Nieuwerkerk lies in the heart of Schouwen-Duiveland, surrounded by the peace and wide-open spaces of the Zeeland countryside. Cycle along the dikes, wander through Zierikzee or head towards the beach and sea. And of course, we’re always happy to share our tips for lovely places to visit and favourite spots in the area.
Meadows & walking
In the surrounding countryside, you’ll find plenty of farmland, meadows and quiet polder roads. Head out on foot and enjoy the open spaces, the beautiful views and the Zeeland countryside.
Nature & birds
The Zeeland polder is a lovely place for birdwatchers. With a little luck, you might spot all sorts of birds in the meadows, along the dikes and by the water. Feel free to bring your binoculars.
