De SluishoeveGuest studio on Schouwen-Duiveland

Privacy statement

We ask as little of you as we can, and what we do ask we explain here: what we keep, why, for how long, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible

De Sluishoeve, a guest studio in Nieuwerkerk on Schouwen-Duiveland, is responsible for the data processed through this website.

Our contact details are at the bottom of every page. If you have a question about this statement, an email is the quickest route.

The enquiry form

If you fill in the form, we keep your name, email address, preferred arrival and departure dates, the number of guests, the language you viewed the site in, and any message you sent.

We use that to answer your enquiry and, if you come, to arrange your stay. The legal basis is performance of the agreement we enter into with you, or our legitimate interests if it stays at a question.

Your enquiry ends up in our management system and is emailed to us. You receive an acknowledgement and, later, a confirmation or a decline.

We keep enquiries for up to two years after your stay or after we have dealt with them. Invoices we keep for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires it.

Visitor statistics

We measure how many people visit the site and which pages they look at, using Matomo on our own server — so nothing goes to Google or any other company.

The measurement is deliberately set up so that nothing is stored on your device: no cookies, no other storage. That is why you will not find a cookie banner on this site. There is simply nothing to consent to.

Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so it can no longer be traced back to you. If you have "Do Not Track" enabled in your browser, we do not count your visit at all. We only look at totals, never at what a single visitor does.

The map on the surroundings page

The surroundings page shows a map from OpenStreetMap. As soon as it loads, openstreetmap.org sees your IP address — as does any server your browser fetches something from.

OpenStreetMap sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. We deliberately chose it over Google Maps, which does.

Who else sees your data

We sell nothing and share nothing for advertising. Two parties necessarily come across your data:

Our hosting provider, which runs the website and the management system.

SMTP2GO, which sends our email.

We have agreements with both about how that data is handled. Beyond that, we only pass something on if the law obliges us to.

Your rights

You may ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You may object to our use of it, and ask for a copy in a common file format.

Send us an email and we will sort it out. Usually that takes a few days, and at most a month.

If we cannot resolve it together, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

The site and the management system are only reachable over a secure connection (https). The management system sits behind a password and is not publicly accessible. The website can only be read from; changing anything requires a login.

Changes

If what we collect or why changes, we update this statement. The date at the top says when that last happened.
